SASHLab on Tour!
L-R: Dr Siobhán Howard (MIC), Prof Brian Hughes (NUIG), Dr Rachel Sumner (UL), Dr Stephen Gallagher (UL), Páraic Ó Súilleabháin (NUIG)
SASHLab members Stephen, Rachel, and Páraic presented at the Stress and Anxiety Research Society (STAR) conference hosted by Tel Aviv University this week.
Stephen and Rachel each presented posters, one on the preliminary data from the UL Spit Study, and a review on cortisol in unemployment. Páraic did an excellent presentation on his PhD research, looking at the personality element of Openness and how it relates to the workings of the heart.
The conference brought together researchers from around the world to discuss and share their work on all this Stress and Anxiety, in a jam-packed three days. We witnessed excellent talks from Prof Brian Hughes (NUI Galway, Ireland), Dr Anna Phillips (University of Birmingham, UK), Dr Siobhán Howard (Mary Immaculate College, Ireland), Prof Michael Eysenck (Royal Holloway, UK), and Prof Johanes Siegrist (University of Dusseldorf, Germany), to name just a few.
It was a great few days - we all really enjoyed listening to the excellent research, and participating in some enthusiastic discussions. We want to say a big thank you to STAR Society, Prof. Brian Hughes, the organising committee, and Tel Aviv University for a fantastic time.
Next year - Zagreb, Croatia!
